BLS approached Rowen to create a monthly online newsletter that would also serve as an email campaign to existing clients.
The budget was very limited, and there was a need for a simple but effective solution.
Rowen created a simple online template that could be updated on a monthly basis, as well as a mirror version for HTML emails.
She then set BLS up with email freeware, Phplist, which is a great software for the complicated task of administrating email campaigns. This provided:
- systemated emails
- tracking of clicks
- automated administration of mailing list of subscribers and unsubscribers
- automated administration of bounced or incorrect email address
- statistics for each email campaign
- automated responses
- and a great deal more.
Drawing on her stint as a journalist and editor, Rowen was additionally responsible for researching articles, sourcing images, writing articles (striking a balance of simple language that was challenging for English Second-Language students) and editing copy.
